Problem Solved : Keyboard and touchpad not responding on Aspire 4310 and 4710

First I would like to thank F.Torres9 for his comment on this post, it's really helpful. If you don't understand what I'm talking about please read this post. My problem on Acer Aspire 4710 (and 4310) finally solved. 

Now keyboard and touchpad still work and responding well after sleep (stand by). Like F.Torres9 said, when you install windows do not install camera driver, just install the application for the camera, not the driver. You can use default driver from windows. You may have to reinstall windows, it will not work if you just uninstall the device from device manager.

UPDATE :
You may try to use Roll Back Driver feature, Open Device Manager > double click on CrystalEye > click "driver" tab > click Rool Back Driver
 

Tested and working! :) I hope future release of the camera driver will solve the problem. But I think I don't need this driver, there's no difference (image quality) between camera driver from Acer and the default camera driver from Windows.

Are Acer laptop take a long time for boot and (or) shutdown? No… It’s just like other laptop, boot and shutdown time is depends how much services and program in startup.

There are many ways to make our laptop (or PC) boot and shutdown faster, you can do this from registry, msconfig, services.msc, and other tools ... Does this need to be explained? Hmm... you can search it on google by yourself ;) I just want to tell you an acer empowering technology feature that make it easier to do. No registry editing... just a few clicks.

Select Speed >

Select All ;) then click Apply >
Feel faster ? ...

Acer Empowering Technology and Aspire 4520, Aspire 4710 Windows XP

All Acer Empowering Technology for new Acer products like Aspire 4520, 4710, 4720, etc... Was designed for windows vista, it's making our daily computing easier to do than before.

But when this Acer Empowering Technology designed for windows vista, it cannot be installed on windows XP, but you can use Acer Empowering technology from other aspire series.

My friend have an Acer Aspire 5620 (Acer recommends Windows XP for this laptop), so I copy Acer Empowering Technology from him.



I tried to install it on two laptops, Aspire 4710 and Aspire 4520

hi cahya, i have installed de E.T from acer travelmate 5720 to acer aspire 4720z, it works fine, the only "problem" is that now i have to push the power button to turn off the computer, but nothing else happen, everything runs smooth, if anything changes i will let everyone Know, i´m going to see a solution to the "problem".

How to Turn On Windows XP ClearType - just like ClearType in Windows Vista

ClearType delivers improved font display quality over traditional forms of font smoothing or anti-aliasing. ClearType improves readability on color LCD displays with a digital interface, such as those in laptops and high-quality flat panel displays. Readability on CRT screens can also be somewhat improved. You can turn on Windows XP ClearType using Windows XP PowerToy (download here) - 2.47MB, it lets you activate and tune your ClearType settings via the Windows Control Panel.

Using the tuner

To start the tuner, select Start and then Control Panel. If you are in Category View, select Appearance and Themes, and then ClearType Tuning.

If you are in Classic View, just select ClearType Tuning.

Start the Wizard or select the Advanced tab.


Follow the steps and use the context sensitive help if needed.

MobileMeter for Laptop - just 41 Kb - Download Now

Interesting software... this is a system monitoring utility designed for laptop PCs running under the Windows environment. It can show the following information.

• CPU clock
• CPU temperature
• Battery charge/discharge rate
• HDD temperature

Desktop PCs are usually designed to allow the OS to directly read the sensor values, but this is not true in most laptop PCs. Mobilemeter may be able to read the temperature even in such laptop PCs.




System requirements

OS

Windows 2000 or Windows XP
This utility does not run under Windows NT4/95/98/Me

System

• ACPI must be implemented. (This is true for most fairly new PCs.)
• ACPI must be used for CPU temperature control. This may be true depending on how the system is designed. This is not true in most desktop PCs, but true in some laptop PCs.
• The system must be designed to obtain the correct battery status information in order for this utility to show the battery charge/discharge rate.
• HDD must be connected directly to the on-board IDE controller and designed to return the temperature in order for this utility to show the HDD temperature.

MobileMeter relies on the OS for obtaining the CPU temperature. This functionality may be affected by certain OS behaviors and sometimes screwed up by the Service pack installation.

Installation/Uninstallation

For installation, just unzip the file in a folder and launch mobilemeter.exe. This program requires administrator privilege.

For uninstallation, first terminate Mobilemeter, then delete the folder containing the files. Mobilemeter uses a driver but it is automatically deleted when terminated. It uses no registry entry.

How to use

You can drag Mobilemeter by left clicking the window. The menu pops up by right clicking on the window.

You can turn on/off the graph display by double clicking the title of each item

The option menu pops up by right clicking on the window and choosing 'option' in the menu.

You can toggle the mobilemeter window by clicking the tasktray icon.

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 setup error on Windows XP SP3

Yesterday I tried to install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 because Encarta 2008 need it, but there is an error when I tried to install it...

Error 25007.Error occurred while initializing fusion. Setup could not load fusion with LoadLibraryShim(). Error: 0x80131702

Windows XP SP3 is not listed in the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 system requirements. Maybe the future release of Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 will solve this problem. Until now I was unable to use Encarta on my Windows XP SP3. I have to install Encarta on my other laptop's OS, Windows Vista (Dual boot)


UPDATE:
PROBLEM SOLVED !!! Go to C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\ and then delete
Policies folder. Restart your computer.

Keyboard and Touchpad on my laptop stop responding after wake up from sleep status

Im still confuse about this.... when my aspire 4710 wake up from sleep status, the keyboard and mouse stop responding, this is happen in windows XP, Vista Home Premium, and Vista Bussines. I think this can be happen in another version of windows like Vista ultimate or even Vista Home Basic.

When I close the lid, the laptop will sleep, this is default setting on windows vista, and when the laptop wake up, keyboard and touchpad stop responding, but not the mouse... I still able to use it. I tried to restart the laptop, but it cannot boot up again, nothing appears on the screen, even bios. Just LED on power button still on.



I hold down power button for several seconds, to force laptop shutdown. I press the power button again and hope that the laptop will able to boot up again. No.. it can't boot again, until I remove the battery and insert it again.

I send an email to Acer about this, but Acer customer service haven't reply my email. I think there is a BIOS problem (maybe....) by the way, my BIOS version is 1.02

Do you have same problem with me?

Do you think every laptop with AMD processor is better in 3D graphics than the Intel ones? maybe yes... maybe no... :)
