Hi..Thanks for the above drivers...you're really a life saver! I have an issue though, my laptop is a 5735, but I can't seem to find the sound drivers. I downloaded and installed the Realtek Audio drivers for XP but no sound comes out. I'm just wondering what else I need to install...Please help me out. Thanks

And many others visitors said that they have problem with their laptop sound after install Windows XP SP2. If you have the same problem, please follow the steps below:

Step 1 :
Uninstall any audio drivers and Microsoft UAA (kb888111) - if it's installed....

Step 2:
Click Start > Run... > type devmgmt.msc > press Enter
On Device Manager, please uninstall (right click > select Uninstall) a PCI device marked as unknown (e.g. with a '!' or maybe Yellow question mark)
and then Restart your laptop.

Step 3:
Windows will ask you to install automatically the drivers for Microsoft UAA Bus.
Cancel it and install this kb888111 - Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio (Download for XP SP2)
Restart your laptop

UPDATE 1:
For Windows XP SP3 users, please read this (Install Microsoft (UAA) High Definition Audio class on Windows XP SP3)

Step 4:
After laptop restarted, Windows will once more ask you to install automatically the drivers for Microsoft UAA Bus, let Windows install it automatically, and then please install the sound driver (e.g. Realtek Sound Driver)

How to Edit Boot.ini on Windows XP

Anonymous said…
First, thanks to you.
It works fine for me, installed successfully. However, now every time I turn on my computer, it has two options to select in order to continue:
1. Start with window xp
2. USB repair ....

How can I get rid of that, so every time I turn on the computer I don't have to press enter.

(Install XP from USB Flash Disk)

After installing Windows XP using a USB flash drive (Komku-SP-USB) in some cases this message will appear when you turn on your computer:

Please follow these steps to get rid of those messages:

Step 1:
Open Command Prompt.... Start > Run.. > type cmd > press Enter

Step 2:
Type cd\ and press Enter

Step 3:
Type start notepad.exe boot.ini and press Enter

Step 4:
A notepad window will appear, and then change timeout=30 to timeout=0

boot.ini

boot.ini
Step 5:
Save it, now you can close notepad, restart your computer.

Yes.. It's just that simple...
So, what's the difference between editing boot.ini using notepad and msconfig utility ?
On msconfig, it is impossible to set the timeout to 0.
