7 Best Free DVD/Blu-ray Burner Software

Nowadays we rarely use a CD or DVD for data backup. The DVD Burning process takes more time compared to copying from a PC to a flash drive or external HDD and the current price of flash drives and external HDD is inexpensive so people choose to backup their data to an external hard disk drive.

But sometimes a CD or DVD is still needed, for example if you want to give a gift to someone would be better if it is given in the form of a CD or DVD instead of pen drive because you can create CD or DVD labels with LightScribe and it will feel more special.

In choosing DVD / Blu-ray burner software, one aspect to consider is the ease of use of the software and we have included a screenshot of the software, so you can quickly choose which of the software will be downloaded. Here is a list of the 7 best FREE burning software that you can use:

USB Flash Drive Force Format Tool

A few days ago I bought a 32GB usb flash drive. This flash drive is just a standard pen drive without any lock switch which is used so that the flash drive is in "read only" mode. But when I tried to copy some files from the computer to the flash drive there is an error message saying that the flash drive is in read-only mode.

I tried unplugging the flash drive from the USB port and then plug it again, this time the error message is "You need to format the disk in drive G: before you can use it - Do you want to format it?". I tried to format it, but windows was unable to format my flash drive and error message "The disk is write protected" appears.

Luckily I found a tool to format the flash drive called "FAT32 Format". With this software you can force format your USB flash drive. Follow the steps below:

Improving PC Performance with Readyboost? How Is This Possible?

ReadyBoost was first introduced in Windows Vista in 2006 and is still included in Windows 7 and Windows 8. ReadyBoost works in a similar way to Superfecth. Superfecth works by monitoring and then automatically loading the data or program used in the computer into RAM so that the program becomes faster when run. ReadyBoost, on the other hand, does not use RAM but uses a USB flash drive (or other flash based memory) instead.

Can ReadyBoost really improve the performance of your PC?

In theory it would be faster for a computer to read small data from flash drive than it does from hard drive, but unfortunately the reading speed of flash drive is much slower than that of RAM; therefore, if the capacity of RAM in your computer is sufficiently large---say, more than 1GB, adding flash drive for ReadyBoost would give very little effect and even the performance improvement produced may not be perceived at all because Superfetch has done effectively to foster such improvement. In contrast, if your computer only has a small amount of RAM (512MB for example), then the addition of 1GB or more flash drive memory for ReadyBoost would be very influential, although the increase was not as high as the performance obtained from the addition of RAM with the same amount.

The recommended amount of memory to use for Windows ReadyBoost acceleration is one to three times the amount of random access memory (RAM) installed in your computer. For instance, if your computer has 512 megabytes (MB) of RAM and you plug in a 4 gigabyte (GB) USB flash drive, setting aside from 512 MB to 1.5 GB of that drive will offer the best performance boost. The minimum size for any USB flash drive to work with Windows ReadyBoost is 256 MB. (Microsoft)

When should we use ReadyBoost?

As I said before, the improvement of PC performance with ReadyBoost will only be perceived if the capacity of RAM in your computer is small (1GB or less); but you are too lazy to add RAM, ReadyBoost will be very useful. Please note that if you use ReadyBoost, it is better for you to use a high-speed flash drive so the performance improvement produced can really be perceived.

If your computer is slow because its RAM is small, do not be too lazy to buy additional RAM and to improve its capacity. ReadyBoost is only viable under a particular circumstance or if you have a high speed flash that you don't use. Is your computer running out of available RAM slots? Then replace your RAM with one with larger capacity. Has the maximum capacity of your computer's RAM been reached? Then upgrade your computer's hard drive with an SSD; your computer's performance will certainly be much better.

What is the Meaning of Mouse Polling Rate?

The Polling Rate term is used rarely in articles or specifications about standard mouse. However if we read gaming mouse article or specification, we will find the term of Mouse Polling Rate or USB Polling Rate easily.

Polling Rate or Report Rate Definition

Commonly, standard mouse adjust the polling rate according to the default setting of USB Polling Rate that is 125 Hz so that the mouse will send data to computer about the axes coordinate and every button that is clicked as many 125 times per second (125 Hz). Polling rate can be defined as how often the device frequency that is connected to the USB port could send information to the computer, for example: If the polling rate of a certain mouse is 1 Hz, it would update the axes coordinate every second when it is moved.

Mouse rate checker

The Advantage of High Polling Rate

Gaming mouse usually has a higher polling rate than a standard mouse. The common polling rate of gaming mouse is about 250Hz, 500 Hz or 1000 Hz (click here to download Mouse Rate Checker). Gaming mice that its polling rate is 500 Hz will send data 500 times every second to the computer or each data is sent every 2ms. Whereas the gaming that have 1000 Hz polling rate will send the data that is related to the mouse axes coordinate to the computer 1000 times per second or every 1ms, one data is sent to the computer. The higher polling rate will cause computer receive the information about the mouse frequently. Then, the computer also responds the mouse information data about axes coordinate quickly.

Why high Polling Rate is needed?

If you use the mouse just for common program such as office program or image editor and not games program, you may use a mouse that has 125 Hz polling rate. 125 Hz polling rate means that it has delay every 8ms. However, it still can be used for common program such as office program. But, you should think again using 125 Hz rolling rate mouse for games program. The 8ms delay is very long especially for First Person Shooter online game. Even 1ms delay can determine your player's fate about death or alive.

High Polling Rate Causes CPU Spikes

Negative Aspect

Even high polling rate mouse has a negative aspect, higher polling rates on the mouse causes more CPU usage because the CPU will work harder to process the high polling rate. However, that's a normal thing and there's nothing to worry about.

I just installed Windows 7 and Yahoo Messenger 10 and wanted to use multiple instances like I did on XP with YM 9. Thanks!
If you're unsure if this is a virus and will corrupt your system or not, check it with your antivirus first (it's clean). If you're still unsure, right click on each file after you unzip them and choose 'edit' to see the contents inside. You can see it just changes one value for Yahoo Messenger in the registry so it's perfectly safe! The 'uninstall.reg' just changes the value back to the default. Thanks again! Just leaving a comment for others so they know this works fine.

Try this :

1. Right click on speaker icon... open volume control

2. Make sure that "subwoofer" is listed on Master Volume window

3. If not, click Options > Properties , make subwoofer appear on Master Volume window....

4. Then please lower the level on subwoofer .....

if "Subwoofer" in UPDATE 3 doesn't work, try to adjust volume level of "Internal Subwoofer" or something sounds like that....
and you must use sound driver from Acer.. . (Download here)

and try this :

1. Right click on speaker icon... open volume control

open volume control

2. Click Options > Advanced Controls

3. Click Advanced button

4. Advanced Controls for Master Volume will appear..... this screenshot was not taken from Aspire 6920G/8920G, so some of these settings may be different, I hope you can make some adjustment and make Acer Tuba CineBass Booster better on Windows XP.

and I think Acer Tuba CineBass Booster is not a true subwoofer... it's just a bass booster for

****!!THIS WORKS!!**** - I ran Driver Genius Professional Edition and it provided me with the driver I needed to get the bass working on my computer.

I have uploaded it here: -

Once installed and your system has rebooted, open Realtek HD Audio Manager from the task bar and click the Mixer tab. Scroll the Playback section to the right to display additional controls. Crank the subwoofer control up to the desired setting and volia, you have bass!

Still doesn't sound as good as the sound on my old Inspiron 9300 but its way better than it was sounding without the bass. Also, I'm left very disappointed with Acer's tech support as the only option they left me with was paying $60 for a half hour of support which may or may not have solved my problem, and if they couldn't solve my problem, I still would have been charged. Apparently downgrading the OS voids Acer's warranty. Acer's tech support is apparently just as lame as Vista.

Also, in the Bass Managment Setting tab, crank the LFE (sub) up to 10.

Thank you.... Jay... btw to make sure the driver will available forever, this is mirror for "realtek hdaudio 226 xp" (Download)
